Daily Deals: Stationary Bikes, Bowflex Dumbbells, Echelon Rowers, Meta Quest VR, Ring Fit, and More
2023 is here and for those of you who have haven’t yet decided on your New Years resolutions, being healthier by committing to more exercise is a always a good one. As always, there are some great deals on exercise equipment that come around in January. Pick up an inexpensive stationary bike, a pair of adjustable dumbbells or kettlebell, Ring Fit Adventure for the Switch, or the Meta Quest VR headset with Beat Saber, and start working out your own way.
Men’s/Women’s Health Indoor Cycling Exercise Stationary Bike for $174.99
This is an outstanding deal for an exercise bike with 14 levels of variable magnetic resistance. You’d usually be paying at least double for that feature. Unlike other bikes in this price range that have fan or direct contact resistance, magnetic braking is noticeably quieter. Also, changing the resistance is smooth and continuous. This bike is also Bluetooth enabled, giving you the ability to track and save your performance on your mobile device.
NordicTrack 55lb Adjustable Dumbbells (Pair) $260
Amazon is offering an excellent price on a pair of NordicTrack adjustable dumbbells, much lower than a comparable Bowflex SelectTech model. Each dumbbell can be adjusted from 10 to 55 pounds in increments of 2.5 to 5 pounds. If there’s any one piece of exercise equipment you should decide on, free weights would be a very good investment. They’re compact, they cover a wide range of exercises that cover pretty much any area of your upper body, and it’s one less of a reason to take the risk (and the extra cost) of going to your local gym. Free weights in general don’t take up an egregious amount of open floor space, but because these dumbbells are adjustable, you don’t need a rack of individual weights lying around or plates that you have to constantly swap out.
Bowflex 52.5lb Adjustable Dumbbells (Pair) for $379
If you want to go the Bowflex route, Amazon is offering the Bowflex SelectTech 552 adjustable dumbbells at a $50 discount. Each dumbbell is adjustable from 5 pounds all the way to 52.5 pounds in increments of 2.5 to 5 pounds.
Meta Quest 2 VR Headset + 2 Games for $349
This Black Friday deal is still around for select zip codes (it is in stock for us in the SF Bay Area). The Oculus Quest 2 VR headset is normally $399.99 for the 128GB model. Walmart still has it for $50 off and two bonus games: Beat Saber and Resident Evil 4. Beat Saber is easily the best-selling VR game ever and, in my opinion, the best reason to jump to VR. It also makes an incredible fitness tool. Resident Evil 4 is probably the scariest game you’ll play in VR right now. To get both would easily run you over $50.
Echelon Sport Exercise Rower for $297
Get the full-body benefits of rowing workouts even if you don’t live near a body of water (or a gym outfitted with a rowing machine). Walmart is offering this Echelon rower for only $297, a pretty steep price drop from its original $597 price. A rowing machine does an outstanding job of working out your entire body. A proper session will exercise your upper body, abs, quads, and calves all at once, while also burning a ton of calories and providing a low-impact workout that goes easier on your joints than other forms of cardio. Rowers can be pretty costly and this is one of the least expensive options we’ve seen from a reputable brand.
Ring Fit Adventure for Switch for $54.99
Do you want to work out but simply don’t enjoy working out? Ring Fit Adventure is one way to get around this hurdle. Ring Fit incorporates a huge variety of excellent workout exercises disguised as an RPG game. An epic adventure awaits you slaying monsters and dragons, tackling new levels, traversing different environments, acquiring powerups and skills, all the while toning your abs and burning calories.
Bowflex 40lb Adjustable Kettlebell for $119.99
Amazon has the Bowflex SelectTech Adjustable Kettlebell for only $119.99, a 40% price drop from its originally $200 MSRP. Kettlebells are another form of free weight and has its own benefits over traditional dumbbells or barbells. You only really need one kettlebell at a time instead of a pair, and they’re great for a variety of workouts like vlike swings, rows, squats, twists, and more. This one is adjustable from 8 pounds to 40 pounds in six different increments.
Nintendo Switch Online Family Membership and 256GB Memory Card for $49.99
Amazon is offering a free officially licensed Nintendo Switch 256GB Micro SDXC memory Card when you pick up a 12 month Nintendo Switch Online Family Membership. Nintendo Switch Online lets you play online against other people in games like Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, or Splatoon 3, download custom levels in games like Super Mario Maker 2, play free retro SNES games, save your game data to the cloud, and much more. The “Family” membership allows for up to 8 different account holders, not necessarily in the same household. Split the price among your friends for even greater savings (and keep the memory card for yourself).
WD Black SN850X 2TB PS5 SSD for Only $199.99
The SN850X is one of the best SSDs you can buy for your PS5 upgrade. The SN850X is the successor to the SN850 SSD. It has newer flash chips (BiCS5 vs BiCS4) and an updated firmware, which combined offer improved sequential and random read/write speeds. For PC gamers, there’s also an updated Game Mode 2.0 utility that’s designed to tune the SSD for better performance during gaming sessions. It even includes a beefy preinstalled heatsink.
Alienware Aurora R15 i7 Raptor Lake RTX 4080 Gaming PC for $3400 (or RTX 4090 for $3880)
with Liquid Cooling and 1350W Power Supply
Dell is offering its only GeForce RTX 4080 equipped gaming PC, the latest Alienware Aurora R15, for $3299.99 today after a $100 off coupon code “100OFF1499“. Alternatively, you can upgrade to an RTX 4090 for $3779.99 after the same code. The RTX 40 series video cards are only half of the story; the Alienware Aurora R15 is also equipped with the new 13th generation Intel Core i7-13700KF 16-core Raptor Lake CPU.
PS5 God of War Bundle in Stock
The PlayStation 5 console is, thankfully, getting a little easier to find this holiday season. It’s still sold out at most places, but not all. Walmart has the PS5 Disc Edition console bundle with God of War: Ragnarok in stock right now. There’s no queue or invitations to wait for. No guarantees that they’ll stay in stock for much longer.
