The Life-Sized LEGO Marvel Black Panther Set Is 40% Off at the LEGO Shop
Make no mistake, themed and branded LEGO sets aren’t exactly cheap. In recent years, new LEGO flagship builds are getting bigger, bolder and, unfortunately, pricier. To make matters worse, although it’s not uncommon to find a LEGO sale somewhere, LEGO sets aren’t generally discounted more than 20% off. So to see a licensed LEGO build for 40% off, let alone from LEGO Shop direct, is a very rare occurrence.
The LEGO Marvel Black Panther 76215 retails for $349.99 but today you can get it for only $209.99. That’s a massive 40% off MSRP. The fact that this set has been discounted so steeply can only mean one thing: it’s a terrible seller. To be honest, that doesn’t come as a surprise. This particular set is massively overpriced at $350. Although it’s huge (almost a life-size replica), it “only” comprises of 2,961 bricks. That’s about 12 cents per brick, higher than our 10-cent-per-brick threshold of what makes a reasonable deal. Furthermore, you’re getting an overwhelming number of black bricks. There isn’t much variety here.
40% Off LEGO Marvel Black Panther 76215
Now that we got that out of the way, we can focus on why this set suddenly becomes a lot more attractive at the currently price of $209.99. At this price you’re only paying 7 cents per brick, which suddenly makes this an excellent deal when you’re only looking at maximizing pieces. Also, the LEGO Black Panther is an impressively large and visually striking piece, measuring 19″ high and 16″ wide. Constructing the set is actually rather complex and enjoyable, with color coded bricks in the internal sections to help organize your build. The bust is also structurally sturdy (unlike the laughably flimy Hulkbuster) and the arms have some degree of posability. If you’re a Marvel fan, this is still easily one of the best LEGO Marvel sets that you can get. In my opinion, the only sets that are better are the Spider-Man Daily Bugle and the discontinued Avengers Helicarrier.
Right now the LEGO Shop is the only place you can get it at this price. As a bonus, you can get a free LEGO Easter Basket build with your purchase. If you’ve been eyeing this kit but shied away from the admittedly ridiculous MSRP, then this is an excellent opportunity for you to grab one at a much more reasonable price.
