The Apple Watch Ultra Has Dropped to the Lowest Price Ever on Amazon

Today Amazon is offering the first generation Apple Watch Ultra for $659.00. Only the model with the Orange Alpine Loop strap (small) is available at this price. That is $140 off MSRP and the best price we’ve ever seen for Apple’s highest end and most rugged watch.

Lowest Price Ever on Apple Watch Ultra (1st Gen), Now $659

The Apple Watch Ultra features a titanium case that’s more rugged and corrosion resistent than the softer aluminum or stainless steel casing found in the less expensive Apple Watches. Pure titanium (not titanium “coated”) metal is considerably more expensive and is probably one of the main reasons why the Apple Watch Ultra is so much pricier. The size of the case is also larger at 49mm (compared to 41mm-45mm for the Series 8) so it looks more substantial on your wrist. Other upgrades over the Series 8 include a brighter display protected by a more scratch resistant sapphire crystal face, a more precise dual-frequency GPS, beam-forming triple microphone array, dual speakers, up to 36 hours of battery life, up to 100m (300ft) of water resistance, a customizable physical action button next to the crown, and a built-in Oceanic+ app that literally puts a dive computer on your wrist.

The Apple Watch Ultra also carries over all the niceties that you’ll find in the Series 8 like the always-on Retina display, the S8 SiP with 64-bit dual-core processor, and the plethora of health and fitness sensors and features. It also has both GPS and cellular connectivity options standard.

There’s a newer 2nd gen Apple Watch Ultra available, but the only major improvements are the faster S9 processor, brighter display and the new Double Tap gesture support that’s also available on the Apple Watch Series 9. They’re definitely useful upgrades, but not necessarily worth the extra $140 price bump.
