The Biggest TV Deal: This Absolutely Massive 98″ TCL 4K Smart TV Is Under $2K

If you’re in the “bigger is better” camp, have we found the deal for you. Amazon is currently offering this massive 98″ TCL S550G 4K Smart TV for only $1998. That’s 50% off the original $4K price, which itself was the lowest price we’ve found for a 98″ TV. If you’re looking for a TV that can fill up your entire wall at a price that’s actually reasonable, then there are zero other options available right now. Despite the “low” price tag, this is a great TV for both streaming and gaming. It’s a perfect complement to the PS5 or Xbox Series X console and the ultimate way to watch the Super Bowl from the comfort of your home.

2023 98″ TCL 4K Smart TV for Only $1998

The TCL S550G is a 2023 S-series TV. Besides it’s absolutely gargantuan size, the other standout feature of this TV is its native 120Hz refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 inputs. This is a great future-proofed gaming TV for your PS5 and Xbox Series X console because it’s capable of 4K gaming at up to 120Hz refresh rate. That’s certainly not a feature we thought we’d find on the least expensive TV of any particular size.

Other than that, the S550G is pretty much what you’d expect from a value-minded TV. It has a nice design, with a sleek thin bezel and an all-metal chassis. Unlike the Q-series TVs, the S550G doesn’t have a quantum dot panel or local dimming. It does support wide color gamut so it’s actually pretty good at display HDR content. It uses an LED direct panel as opposed to LED edge-lighting so you won’t get uneven bright spots. The S550G features Google TV as its smart interface with voice control capability.

All other 98″ TVs we found on Amazon cost $5K or more. That alone tells you just how good of a deal this is. The fact that the S550G supports 4K @ 120Hz gaming on a PS5 and Xbox Series X console is just icing on the case. Unless you opt for a projector (which has its own severe set of limitations) you can’t get this much screen real estate for the price, not even close.
